G’day mate! How you going? 🙂
First of all, Good on ya for checking out this site! I’m Maria De Luna, a.k.a. the ‘Rockstar Traveler’. 🙂
Well I’m currently based in New Zealand with my husband Jeffrey and so far we are loving our new life here in Middle-Earth, which is also the home of the first sunrise on the planet. Sweet-As!
So, yeah… welcome to my new and improved personal website, MARIA LEARNS TO TRAVEL!
Growing up, I always had the itch to travel. Whether it’s going on a vacation with the whole clan, a surprise weekend getaway with my closest friends, wandering alone in an unfamiliar city, watching interesting travel shows on the tube or just reading an awesome book while having a steaming cup of delicious homemade hot chocolate – I’m all in!
It’s amazing how things change in a matter of years. When I was younger, I used to think that traveling is for people who have lots of money, but now it’s not really that impossible to simply woke up on the other side of the world anymore. I’m not saying that it is cheap to travel to different places but the point is, you got start believing that it is possible! Dream Big, Work Hard and most of all Be Resourceful. It is always inspiring to read exciting travel stories online but reality is that, these are a bunch of hardworking people who always try to find their way around. Basically, they have learned to survive the so called nomadic jungle. Brave souls, eh? Sometimes it’s scary but the beauty of being out there is outrageously priceless!
One of my favorite things to do is to Daydream. I kept imagining what it’s like to visit or live in a totally different country. What was life like for other people? Do we have similarities in terms of culture? Oh, I always wanted to try foreign foods (even the weird ones too) and just go out there and experience getting lost in translation.
Nowadays, a lot of people travel to find themselves, to take a break, sometimes to escape, others are plain adrenaline junkies, some call themselves tourists and the list goes on and on. Clearly, we all have different reasons why we travel. Honestly, I don’t have a lot of dough and I am not going to pretend to be a jet-setter or something. I am just like the rest of you, a travel enthusiast who is continuously aspiring to visit the whole wide world one country at a time. 🙂 But you know what? Before you dive into the bigger picture it is always wise to recognize the blessings we receive everyday. One thing is for sure, I am blessed to be in this situation right now and I didn’t expect that God will take me this far and I am grateful for all of this. I really appreciate the simple road trips that we had, the free rides and I have great respect to different beliefs and lifestyles of the folks that we meet along the way.
“To live will be an awfully big adventure.” – J.M. Barrie
I am traveling with a purpose. To see the world, learn through diverse experiences and write about all the wonderful and meaningful things that I’ve encountered. Adventure is out there so try and live your life to the fullest. It will always be exciting but the most important part of it is how you’re gonna start the journey and ask yourself whether you are prepared for all the great things that are bound to happen. Be open to new things and don’t forget to digest the important lessons too. The path may not always be easy but at the end of every single trek, you will discover that it’s all worth it!
It will be such a thrill and it will give me so much happiness to be able to share my precious adventures and misadventures with all of you. So, fly with me outside Neverland and let us take on a much extravagant adventure –“You are never alone. Be on a journey with me.”
