Jeff and I drove to the provincial dairy farming town called Morrinsville to check out its quirky street art scene. Located in the Waikato, Region between the Kaimai Ranges and the Waikato River, this town is popularly known as the “Dairy Capital Of The World”.
While everyone’s busy and on the look out for wild Pokemon, we want to come up with something completely unique. I’m pretty stoked about the “Herd Of Cows” project because it was such a cool concept. Shout out to the people who started it! Basically, there’s a collection of 42 life-sized cow sculptures which could be found all throughout its grounds. Since we want to challenge ourselves, we’ve decided to play an exciting game on the streets of Morrinsville. It’s different from any stuff that we’ve done before and we’re so ready to find them all!
First of all, we went to the local tourism office called I-site but unfortunately it’s already closed. So to kick start the adventure, we downloaded a trail map online to help us explore the colorful neighborhood. We’re gonna try and see if our strategy will work out and I snapped some photos to help you visualize. Without further ado, let the cow hunt begin! 🙂
We’re off to a very good start. These cows look amazing! If you ever do come across them, please take time to appreciate the incredible art on each statue.
Probably, the classiest looking cow that I’ve ever seen. She’s so fancy!
I thought it’ll be easy as pie but these cows are hard to find.
I’m so sad to have missed some of the cow statues because we were already cold and hungry. By the way, we did the challenge during winter season (#excuses). Well, there’s only so much you could do but not all is lost… meet the Mega Cow of New Zealand!
Holy cow! She’s humongous and absolutely worth applauding. The statue was strategically located next to the main highway. A lot of people stop by to take photos with this beauty.
If you want to clear the junk in your head, try this interesting cow hunt challenge. Never ever lose the child in you! Get some good laughs and be on the move. Also, don’t forget to check out the local fares around this lovely town.
